Interview with Clarence Coleman, conducted during the writing of Georgia Tech History, Technology, and Society Professor Ronald H. Bayor's 1996 book Race and the Shaping of Twentieth-Century Atlanta. This interview expresses Coleman's experiences with interracial conflicts in Atlanta as well as urban development issues that negatively affected African Americans, such as unequal school renovations, transportation to confine African Americans, and urban renewal as a tool for African American removal.  As the Southeast Regional Director of the National Urban League, Coleman campaigned for new employment opportunities for African Americans and to end discrimination in city government.
