Interview with Donald Hollowell, conducted during the writing of Georgia Tech History, Technology, and Society Professor Ronald H. Bayor's 1996 book Race and the Shaping of Twentieth-Century Atlanta. This interview is about Hollowell's experience in fighting discriminating throughout Georgia. An African American civil rights attorney, Hollowell is known for suing the University of Georgia for racist admission policies. Winning his suit, Hollowell made it possible for Charlayne Hunter and Hamilton E. Holmes to enter UGA as the institution's first African American students. He was also victorious in securing the release of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from the Georgia State Prison, among other civil rights victories.
