I have been advised that the Klan has requested, and been granted
a permit by theff City of Atlanta, to parade on Sunday, June 4, 1967.
"Be parade route will take the Klansmen along Georgia Ave. and through
the heart of the Summerhill areg, The thought has been advanced that
the Klan parading through the Summerhill area on a Sunday has the makings
of an explosive situation. I agree. .
It is realized that from a legal standpoint the City is in no
position to refuse the permit. Suggest however we seriously consider
possibilities of getting route changed to lessen danger of some serious
outbreak,
