Interview with Xernona Clayton, conducted during the writing of Georgia Tech History, Technology, and Society Professor Ronald H. Bayor's 1996 book Race and the Shaping of Twentieth-Century Atlanta. In this interview, Clayton addresses her activities in civil rights. A civil rights leader, Clayton served as secretary of the group Southwest Atlanta for Progress (SWAP). She also played a role in the improvement and desegregation of Atlanta neighborhoods, schools, and hospitals.
