Interview with Malcolm Jones, conducted during the writing of Georgia Tech History, Technology, and Society Professor Ronald H. Bayor's 1996 book Race and the Shaping of Twentieth-Century Atlanta. This interview highlights Jones's role in Mayor Allenís Urban Renewal Program. Jones was the first Director of the Department of Urban Renewal in the late 1950s and later the Executive Director of the Housing Resources Committee, where he directed housing code regulations and reanalyzed zoning for African American housing.
