Dear Chief Jenkins:

I am Chairman of the Law Enforcement Subcommittee
of the Community Relations Commission, and this subcommittee
has been asked to study the feasibility of the establishment
of a Citizens’ Review Board of the Police Department for the
City of Atlanta. The request for this study has come from
several citizens’ groups in the community.

We want to discuss the matter with all groups who
are responsible for police protection and police-community
relations. We felt it woulé be the best approach to initiate

our study by cetermining your feelings and suggestions in this
regard. It would be good if you could let us know a convenient

time when the subcommittee might come by your office for a
brief conference.
