Dear Sir:
This memo is an introduction to the summary statement which is
enclosed. The statement is for your personal information and interest
and can serve as a press release. We are deeply interested in keeping
all concerned people, including the general public, informed of our pro-
gress. :
We are also devoted to spreading the service-learning concept that
the Urban Corps is based upon. Even though the Corps is striving for
improvements in the urban situation, we know that little progress can be
made on a 3 month basis. Therefore we are expanding the Corps into a
year-round project, Likewise, since the needs for real, applicable edu-
cation do not cease in 3 months our efforts in revitalizing and re-struc-
turing education are also continuing.
Thank you for your interest in us this first summer. We hope to
build upon and strengthen our relationships with you during the coming
fall.
