The Honorable Ivan Allen
Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia
City Hall
Atlanta, Georgia
Sir:
The Civitan Council of Metropolitan Atlanta,
composed of the Presidents of the 29 Civitan Clubs
in Greater Atlanta, asked me to express our appre-
ciation and commendation for the courageous and
magnificent manner in which you and the Atlanta
Police Department handled the critical situation
several days ago.
Your actions truly exemplified our beliefs
and aims as stated in the following excerpts from
our Creed:
1. "MY MIND--teaches me respect for the
law, unqualified allegiance to
our Government, and respect for
the flag of our country."
2. "MY HOPE--is for a better world and
a better city, through better
men and Civitans."
3. "MY MOTTO--BUILDERS OF GOOD CITIZEN-
SHIP."
