The Honorable Ivan Allen, Jr.
Mayor
The Gity of Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia 30303
My dear Mayor Allen:
This is to say that the Advisory Committee of the Westside YMCA
wishes to join other citizens in denouncing the vidence and disorder
which recently occurred in the City of Atlanta, We do not think there
is room in this city for such a movement.
We wish to commend the police department and the city administration
for the manner in which this matter was handled. We want to continue to
build a better Atlanta and a stronger future for all our citizens.
The YMCA has devoted its attention to the prevention of delinquency
and slum conditions by seeking to meet the needs of all our people in the
commnity.
We invite the commnity to join with the YMCA and other commnity
agencies in helping to bring about expanded program facilities for the
erradication of social blight.
Respectfully,
THE WESTSIDE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
