Dear Mr, Smith:

Thank you very much for your kind letter of Jume 2, 1967 requesting
recreation supervision for Herndon Homes during this summer. We
are pleased to advise you that your location was one of the original
Public Housing sites selected to be included in Operation Champ.
Just this past Monday we received verbal assurances from Economic
Opportunity Atlanta, Inc. thet sufficient funds would be aveilable
for carrying on Operation Champ. Our present target date to begin
Operation Champ is June 12th,

I have teken the liberty of supplying Miss Virginia Carmichael, Director
of Recreation, a xerox copy of your letter so that she might brief the
Project Director for Operation Champ as to the facilities available at
your project, along with your expressed needs, etc.
