Mr. Bill D. Moyers
Special Assistant to the President
The White House
Washington, D. C,
Dear Mr. Moyers:
I will be in Washington on March 7 and 8 in connection with my
appointment to the National Advisory Council on Extension and
Continuing Education.
I would appreciate it very much if you could make arrangements
for me to see the President for, perhaps, five minutes.
On April 12, the Atlanta Braves will play the Pittsburgh Pirates
in the new Atlanta Stadium, initiating major league baseball in
the southeast. I would like to deliver a personal invitation to
the President for him to be here at that time. This would pro-
bably be the most appropriate and most important time during
the coming several years for the President to visit this area.
Iam certain that both Senators Russell and Talmadge and
several members of the Congressional delegation will come
down that afternoon or early evening, attend the game, and
return to Washington that night.
If you would like to have additional information, I would appreciate
your calling me.
Sincerely,
Ivan Allen, Jr.
