Dear Mr. Smiths
Mayor Ivan Allen, Jr. has forwarded to me your letter of
Aprii 18, 1969 and the attached petition requesting a
playlot for the A. D. Williams School/Bowen Homes area.
I am immediately Mr. Joe Gentry, of our Parks Engineering
Division, and Mr. Marvin Billups, Recreation Supervisor
for your area of the City, to contact you personally and
discuss in depth the location, design, equipment, etc. of
a playliot.
Aftex several years the City has finally secured title to
a park site adjacent to the Bowen Homes, which is presently
known as the Field Road Park Site. The name will probably
be changed in the very near future but in any event I am
asking, by copy of this letter, for Mr. A. P. Brindley,
Parks Engineer, to write you a complete description on the
size, proposed improvements, time schedule, etc. of this
park facility.
