Dear Ivan:
| want to take this opportunity to express my feelings concerning
your action during the recent racial disturbances. | feel that you
are to be complimented on the prompt decisive and courageous
manner in which you acted.
Like all other right thinking citizens, I, of course, deplore
these disturbances, but | feel we are fortunate to have a man
like youas Mayor. Indeed, you have certainly carried out
your high office in a most commendable manner.
| simply wanted to add my congratulations and commendation to
all of those | know you are receiving for a job well done in your
excellent handling of a difficult situation, and wish you the very
best of luck and continued success.
