I would like to join with countless others across
our nation in commending you for your splendid leadership
that you have given the city of Atlanta during the present
racial crises. You can be assured of our continued prayers
and support for you as you seek creative ways to restore
harmony in our splendid city.
All of us deplore the rioting, murder, and chaos
that has been brought to the surface in recent weeks, but
it is a sense of comfort to know that the leadership of
our city is entrusted to a man who is willing to find just
and honorable solutions to these difficulties.
