Dear Mayor Allen:
The kids around Atlanta may be "ga-ga" about
Batman, the upcoming Green Hornet and, of course,
the ever present Gunsmoke - but as for me, your
performance during the past few riot torn days
beats all. It was a rare display of courage and
a sincere attempt to be "where the action was" in
order to do the most good for all. I was fearful
on several occasions as I saw you on the T-V and
am grateful that you suffered no physical effects
--the mental pictures will not soon fade because I
as well as most Atlanta citizens know how deeply
you care about Atlanta and the good of ALL its
people. The rest of the country is finding out too.
You were the first order of business on the Walter
Kronkite Program last evening and you came through
loud and clear.
MORE POWER TO YOU.
Sincerely yours,
