Dear Mayor;

I want to tell you how much I appreciate your very

fine efforts in handling the race troubles this week.

I think every citizen in Atlanta and the country whould
be proud of you and your level headed approach to the
problem.

You have shown people that leadership of the right kind
can result in quelling disturbances of this nature.

It is unfortunate that a very few radicals can cause

so much strife. So many people blame the entire negro
race for the actions of a very smal] minority, who live
by stirring up strife.

Again congratulation to you on such a fine job. It is
rewarding to be a citizen of a city where We have this
kind of leadership.
