Dear Mayor Allen:

I want to personally thank you for the courageous manner in
which you have handled the recent disturbances in our city.

You have already demonstrated in many ways during your admin-
istration that you are a man of action, and now you have proven
yourself to be a man of character and integrity. you have, no
doubt, received many messages and of themselves the words can-
not be of much help, but please know that my prayers are with
you as you act in behalf of the citizens of Atlanta.

The Atlanta Police Department is to be commended for their
services which have been above and beyond the call of duty.
I am grateful for their protective presence.

-As a native Atlantan I am very proud of the progress Atlanta
has made under your leadership, and I wish you much continued
success.
