Honorable Ivan Allen
Mayor, City of Atlanta
City Hall
Atlanta, Georgia 30303
Dear Mayor Allen:
Of all the heroism, bravery and citations given out, you certainly
deserve the highest praise ofall. As chief executive ofa great city,
it does not call for your risking your very life as you did on Tuesday.
I personally praise you most highly for going beyond all call of duty.
Even though I have moved out of the City of Atlanta, I was born and
raised there and-will continue to all Atlanta my home.
Another thing you did that my wife and I both want to thank you for
is the fine personal letter you sent our son, J. R. Bobo, who was
with the Fire Department until about six weeks ago. He made his
decision to enter Bob Jones University and study religion long before
any trouble erupted with the Firemen, He holds your letter with highest
esteem.
May God bless you and continue to give you strength in running this
great city of Atlanta.
Sincerely yours,
Tom W. Bobo, Sr.
