Dear Mayor Allen;

I would like to express my deepest apreciation
for your stand and convictions against SNCC and the
racial hatred that they represent,

The recent rioting and racial troubles occurring
in northern cities has to some degree vindicated the South
for the slander and castigation by northern authorties and
press directed toward the South during the race problems
last winter, Their view point changed 360 degrees when
the trouble was in their own back yard.

It is very encouraging to see that you are willing
to stand for the principles of justice and law and order,
and to meet these agitators face to face. Your firm action
| was effective since the leader of SNCC felt that he was
| much safer back north, ,
BEaBPASAS I have had the fortune to be in Atlanta twice, and
| it is my observation that all cities both north and south should
~—\ tary - RANCH use your fine city as an example. Atlanta, Mayor Allen, is
ORAS a credit to this countryriand I am greatful that it is in the
South and only wish that Texas had a "Atlanta",
