Apartment 9
Atlanta, Georgia 30309
October 3, 1966
Honorable Ivan Allen, Jr.
Mayor of Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia
Dear Mayor Allen:
This is to tell you how much I admire you for the stand you have taken
regarding the runoff in the Governor's race of September 28, 1966. You
are the only man in public office in Georgia who has shown any character,
integrity or courage, according to my way of thinking.
The things that have happened in Georgia since Wednesday, September 28,
are nauseating to me. I have truly swapped the devil for the witch--
am originally from Alabama.
Mr. Allen, I pray that you will stand firm in your convictions. If you
waiver, don't think I can take it.
Sincerely yours,
