Honorable Ivan Allen
Office of the Mayor
Atlanta, Georgia
Dear Mayor Allen:
You are to be congratulated on the forthright position
you have taken regarding the run-off election. Your
public stand against extremism and for the concept of
reason is the more remarkable because you will very
likely stand alone among prominent, public figures in
doing so.
These days, to put conscience above party shows a high,
and, unfortunately, an uncommon, degree of commitment to
principle.
I do not think it will happen, but wouldn't it be both
encouraging and thrilling if a massive repudiation might
occur in November, as thousands of sane people "went
fishing."
Sincerely yours,
dee hha
