Dear Mr. Allen,
Having read in the New York Times
an account of your testimonybefore the Senate
Commerce Committee I feel I must tell you of my
appreciation of every word you said.
I am a southerner; my father was a confederate
soldier,
You are a christian stateman, a gentleman
and a scholar, The world needs more men of your
type and courage.
May you be able to convince those who do
not agree with you of the folly of their ways.
