MERCER UNIVERSITY
MACON, GEORGIA
Office of the President July 29 t 1963
Mr. Ivan Allen
Mayor of the City of Atlanta
City Hall
Atlanta, Georgia
My dear Mr. Mayor:
I have long been a friend, but now I
am increasingly proud even to know you.
The courage required to be the honest man
you were at Washington last Friday was
admirable, and I want you to know how
deeply I admore you. The increased respect
which your testimony earns for Atlanta and
indeed for all Georgia must be evident,
and all is much appreciated by me,
Yours very truly,
