Dear Mayor Allen:

During our discussion May 21, 1969, concerning @ nationally prominent
speaker (Mayor Lindsay in particular) for our Urban Corps intern orien-
tation, you mentioned the possibility of visiting Mayor Lindsay in New
York, as an alternative for publicity purposes since New York had pio~-
neered in the Urban Corps concept.

iast weekend I mentioned yow idea to Dr. Timothy Costello, Vice-Mayor,
City of New York, at Mayor Lindsay's office @ifing a series of meetings
Lindsay not being able to come to Atlanta for ow ori tion but was
most enthusiastic about your idea of visiting New York. He asked me to
see if you would be interested in such a visit during August even though
we have established our Urban Corps program for this year. Dr. Costello
said such & visit would be “most cunstructive for Mayor Lindsay.” |
