Dear Mayor Alken:

This is to advise that the Department of Parks has no record
of ever having received a check from the above captioned in-
dividual for purchase of a golk membership in July.

As 4t seems nather odd that this gentkeman would wait through
the months of JuLy, August and September before he advised us
that he had not received his membership cand, we hesitated to
fonward him another one,

Mn, Granger has promised to forward us the cancelled check, at
which time we wih be happy to give him a membership card and
make up the time he Lost due to some error or misunderstanding,

This type thing has happened before in this department and

we have found that the individual coukd not produce a source

of prook of his ever having purchased a membership. Therekore,
we must have evidence before we can 4545ue memberships.

We regret the inconvenience caused you by this oversight, but
