DEDICATION COMMITTEE
October 26, 1965 - Stadium Authority Office - Atlanta Stadium
Chairman Forio called the meeting to order at 3:30 P. M.
with the following present:
Chairman Edgar J. Forio
Curtis Driskell
Lynn Westergaard
Dick Cecil
Jim Fanning
Sidney Scarborough
Chairman Forio opened the meeting with a brief resume of
past activities and of those planned for the future.
Chairman Forio appointed the following to the Stadium Book
Committee:
Earl Mann
William Rawson
Dick Cecil
Sidney Scarborough
Chairman Forio appointed the following to the Invitation
Committee:
Opie L. Shelton
Jim Fanning
Plus others to be appointed
by Mr. Shelton
Chairman Forio appointed the following to the Parade Com-
mittee:
Frank Fling
Jim Fanning
Austin Brown
The following individuals were named to coordinate all ac-
tivities with the Braves:
Jim Fanning
Dick Cecil

Dedication Committee
Chairman Forio appointed the following to the Program Com-
mittee:
Mrs. Ann Moses
Lynn Westergaard
Ernie Johnson
Sidney Scarborough
Chairman Forio appointed the following to the Plaque Com-
mittee:
Mr. Arthur L. Montgomery
Mayor Ivan Allen, Jr.
Commissioner J. H. Aldredge
The sketch of the plaque will be turned over to Mr. Montgomery
for approval by his committee.
Mr. Fanning was instructed to invite the National League
president and commissioner of baseball to the dedication
activities and ask that they be prepared for not more than
a two minute talk.
Mr. Fanning and Mr. Cecil were asked to consider an indi-
vidual to serve as master of ceremonies - possibly the
Braves main announcer,
It was the feeling of the body that Dedication exercises
would begin at 7:15 P. M., April 12, 1966, with the game
starting at 8:00 P. M.
It was agreed that some of the Chamber of Commerce Com-
mittees, especially the Sports Committee, could well serve
the activities of this committee and would be invited to
do so.
It was the concensus of the body that Atlanta Falcon rep-
resentatives would be introduced during the dedication
program but would not be called upon for comment, and that
the Program Committee be so notified,
Chairman Forio announced that there would be a meeting in
early January to coordinate the activities of the various
committees.

Mr. Westergaard was asked to get in touch with Mr. Fling
and request that he begin preparations for a mammoth
Opening Day Parade.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
