512 Haldane Dr. Selle,
Atlenta, Georgia.
Honorable Ivan Allen, Jr.,
Mayor, City. of Atlanta,
City Hall,
Atlanta, Georgia.
Dear Major Allen:
Recently I wrote you a letter regarding the negro block busting attemps
which are being waged in the Peyton-Utoy Forest Commnity in Southwest
Atlanta. As a resident of this commnity, I thought you would like
to have a copy of the petition which was signed by all residents of
our community. a
This petition clearly points out that we are not interested in selling
our homes, but we are constantly bothered by phone calls, letters,
and visits from negro real estate brokers. These negro brokers know
about this petition but continue to solicit listings in our all white
community. These attemps are becoming extremely annoying.
I earnestly request you to use your influense to persuade these
negro brokers to abandon their planned attack on our community. I am
enclosing an article which appeared in a recent issue of the \iest End
Star. This article sums up the block busting attemps in our community.
I would like to hear of your plans for curbing the unrest which now
exists in Southwest Atlanta.
Sincerely,
BOBBY F. FARMER
